Q: How do I register?
A: Register online at this link
Q: If we purchase the conference ticket with accommodation, when are we able to check in to the accommodation? I'm trying to find out so that I can arrange flights.
A: Corpus Christi College accommodation is open for the Conference on Monday afternoon the 18th of November after 3 o’clock. This is because the seminarians only vacate the College for holidays on Sunday. Pre-conference cataloguing sessions are being held that morning and afternoon at the Dalton McCaughey Library in Parkville.
Q: When will sessions begin on Monday and finish on Thursday?
A: The first sessions on Monday are Classification at 10.30 am and Cataloguing at 1 o’clock in the afternoon. The last session of the Conference concludes at 12.30 pm on Thursday, just before lunch. Daylight saving will be in operation in Victoria, which may influence your decisions about arrivals. The clocks go forward one hour in Melbourne this Sunday, the first weekend of October.
Q: Who is the keynote speaker?
A: Michael McGirr
Q: What is the dress code for the conference dinner?
A: The conference dinner on Wednesday evening will be held in the college, following an afternoon of tours. Time has been provided to freshen up and prepare after the tours. The dinner will be fairly formal and convivial. Dress is semi-formal/formal. Some people like to dress up more formally, others are happy with being just good and presentable. There is no theme to this year’s dinner.
Q: Will there be entertainment provided at the conference dinner?
A: We are fortunate to have Grace Notes Singers entertain us this year at the dinner. Grace Notes is a community women’s choir with a mixed repertoire. The choir is made up of women in diverse stages of their lives - university students, career women, business owners and mothers of young children. Most singers in the ensemble have been involved in good school or university choirs or have taken private voice lessons. All have a passion for singing choral literature of artistic merit and happily embrace many different musical styles. Based in Moonee Ponds, the choir dresses in the familiar colours of the local Essendon team, red and black. View the Grace Notes Singers' website here.
